Who I Am (The Professional)

Professionally I am Stephen Paul Adams. I work full time for Cie Studios as a Senior Application Developer. On the side, I am, still, Stephen Paul Adams, and work for LEV-L Studios with Filip Osowski and Bryan Castagnetti.

I'm pretty much a .NET developer, although I've been known to dabble in other frameworks and languages (PHP, Perl). I specialize in VB.NET, but also know C#, because deep down inside I was raised a C++ developer (Borland for life! Okay, maybe not for life). Although SQL Server was my first database management system, I've been using MySQL extensively as of the last 3 years. And since the web is always changing, I've made my way through various .NET framework versions (namely 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, and now 3.5 SP1). In addition to server side development, I am also proficient in XHTML and CSS as well as AJAX/DHTML frameworks such as Prototype, jQuery, and ASP.NET AJAX.

Being a developer, you're pretty much forced to either adapt or live in the past, so I make it a personal goal of mine to not only always learn, but adapt as well. I bring passion with me wherever I go, and software development can definitely benefit because of this.

Who I Am (The Hobbyist)

Outside of development, I am a jack of all trades, yet, sadly, a master of none. Weight lifting and baseball are 2 of the most important passions of mine outside of programming. In addition I love snowboarding, yet I'm not very good at it.

Music follows me wherever I go. In the car, music. In the gym, music. At work, music. At home, music. I listen to every genre, since every genre has something new and exciting to offer. I play guitar as well as bass, and am just, in general, a fan of nearly all things music.

I consider myself a lover of beer, and am typically always down to try something new. If you're down for having a beer, typically I'll be right there throwing down a few as well. Other than that, I enjoy plenty of tv shows (Seinfeld, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Code Monkeys, Top Gear, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia), movies, and occassional gaming.

Lastly, I love sleep, and sleep loves me. When the body is well rested, it's at its peak condition, and I love to take advantage of that. So, lastly, when not doing all of the other stuff aforementioned, you can probably find me working on the house or playing with my brat Golden Retriever (Maximus). Well, sometimes both because he's a nuisance.
